When and where is the event?

The Pura Vida Volleyball Festival will be hosted in Playa Samara, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.  Playa Samara is located on the pacific coast just south of Tamarindo.

The tournament dates will be January 5th (Thursday) thru January 8th (Sunday).  For all the tournament details Click here!

Where do I fly into?

The closest airport to Playa Samara is Liberia Guanacaste airport (LIR).  This airport is approximatly 1.5 hours from Playa Samara.

The alternative airport is the Juan Santa Maria international airport.  This airport is located in the Capital city of San Jose.  Altough it is usaually a cheaper flight,  it is  FOUR HOUR drive to Playa Samara.  

It may be worth the exta cost to fly into liberia as it is a much easier drive to the beach.  

It is important to consider, maybe you want to explore some other places in Costa Rica and flying into san jose may work for you and your family.

When cosidering your trip to Costa Rica, it is important to plan your hotel/airbnb early.  Keep in mind, January is the high season for Costa Rica and many people from all over the world come to experience this beautiful place.
